As you will know, your date of birth, height, weight and parents name are listed on your birth certificate. Due to the size of the records they can easily be lost or misplaced, with no copies readily available without paying a lot of money, the internet quickly came up with a solution that is fast and easy. The legitimacy of your birth records are given the once over by the doctor who dealt with your birth, and then the certificate is sent to the health department for safe keeping. You of course get a copy but this can easily be lost. The original that the health authorities have kept is the one you really need if you lose anything as you cannot just fabricate a birth certificate for one of many things such as needing an account at a bank or registering in a new country of residence. Are you possibly adopted? Do you want to find out if your parents have been lying to you, maybe you feel and look a little different from your siblings. Whatever fee you have to pay you can rest assured it will be cheaper than the endless hours you would, or have spent searching the country for birth records only to be knocked back time after time. Searching online is comfortable, do it at home or at work, and do it as many times as you want whilst watching your favourite soap or football game. When you decide to search for your birth records, or someone else's in the family or anyone's, don;t forget to do a little bit of research. The amount of research required isn't much, just make sure you don't hand any money over to cowboys, give them a call or send a letter or email. Don't jump straight in and get scammed resulting in negative thoughts about the internet even though it was half your own fault for not researching!
